TurningPoint was first established by 2009 3A World Champion Kentaro Kimura, to develop his ideal yo-yo. TP was the first Japanese yo-yo maker to exclusively produce full metal yo-yos for competition. Designed to be the ultimate competition yo-yo, the first release of Leviathon, with its easy-to-grip body and low edge, put TurningPoint on the map, quickly gaining recognition worldwide. Manufactured with a tolerance of only .003mm, many fell in love with the high quality and precision of Japanese craftsmanship evident in TP’s yo-yos. Unwilling to compromise, each design goes through countless prototypes, and each production model is tested rigorously to ensure that only the best of the best ever make it to market. Kimura used to be on YoYoFactory’s team, as he began to develop TurningPoint, and the Chaotic was a collaboration between the two companies. Kimura eventually parted with YYF to focus on TurningPoint, and has since established his own sponsored team.
